This is not my story to tell
This is not my story to tell. That's what I said to a friend yesterday that opened up one of the most honest conversations I've had with someone in recent memory. The following is being shared with permission.

Wake-up call
Have you ever had one of those moments in your life when you're snapped back to reality and just think, "This isn't right? I need to stop,"? Maybe you had an addiction and one night went really badly so you seeked treatment. Maybe you had a job you hated and woke up one day to, "I'm done!" and decided it was time to finally move on. Maybe you just decided you needed to go back to school, lose weight, whatever the case may be we've all had something that made us make a decision to change the course of our lives.

Pandemic birthday "fun"
Well, it's official... I am now 36. I am in my late 30s... 4 years away from 40. That alone would be enough to make anyone scared of their birthday! I went into this birthday very weary. Not just because of ::gestures wildly:: but because my birthdays are always disastrous. To say that yesterday was a rollercoaster of emotions is the understatement of the year.

What inspires you?
Everyone has something that inspires them. Maybe they read a book at a young age that made them want to be a writer. Maybe they had a teacher that showed them they could be and do more. For me, I find inspiration from a lot of things. From people I admire who never gave up on their dreams, from nature... even from myself.

Reflections
2 months... that's what today is... the 2 month mark. It's crazy when you think about it. Sometimes when I think about life before, it feels like it was years ago. As much as the self-isolation and self-quarantine sucks (A LOT), it's just become so normal. Need fresh air? Go to the roof. Need supplies? Make sure you buy enough for a couple weeks. The "new" normal is now just... normal.
